John McCarthy, L.Ac., Dipl.Ac.

As a graduate of Won Institute’s Master of Acupuncture Studies with Distinction and a certified Kalish Method Functional Medicine Practitioner, I specialize in treating the whole person with East Asian medicine and functional medicine to create optimal health outcomes.  I believe that each of us, with the choices we make from moment to moment regarding our lifestyle and mindset, can significantly impact our own health.

All treatment strategies are anchored in the Pillars of Health: Diet & Nutrient Status; Exercise; Sleep, Rest & Recovery; Stress Reduction; Toxin Avoidance & Detoxification; Eliminating Sources of Chronic Inflammation; and Positive Relationships & Community.

In addressing patient concerns it is important to look at the whole person: where they live, where they work, who they share space with, as well as what and when they eat and drink, in order to arrive at an optimal wellness program.

I have learned to help patients’ navigate health challenges through my own arduous health journey.  Most of the answers that I found were in functional and integrative medicine and acupuncture.  I am happy to report that after many years of study, research, and taking responsibility, I now enjoy vibrant health.
